My Balloon Bird.

We had a great time making our balloon birds which go up and down.  Blowing up the balloons was very tricky!  They look so awesome.

Choosing a Book to Read.

I am going to the Pakuranga Library to choose a book to read at my house.

Shapes.

I am learning about circles, squares, triangles and rectangles.  I cut some shapes out of paper.  I made my picture using my creative ideas.  Here is my house made with shapes.  

"I made an apple tree using a big green circle and I cut the red circle shapes to make the apples.  There are four apples on the tree.  It was tricky to make the sun because I cut little rectangles."

I Can Recognise and Write - BIG and little.

My story - This is a little ant.  This is a big tree.  I wrote the story in my book and then Mrs Kerr published it on the laptop and I could choose my tagul shape and my colours.  Writing is tricky because I can't remember the words to write.  My mum and dad and my uncle are teaching me.

My Pattern.

We are learning to make a pattern that continues.  If we make a great pattern, we can give it to our friends and they can finish it off.  They can figure out what comes next in the pattern. 

"My pattern is blue, purple, light pink.  The next peg would be blue and then purple.  I like patterns because they are so beautiful and I can draw patterns too."

I Can Read!

We are trying to read the hard words. We can look at the pictures to help us. We can look at the sound and try out the word. We like to read.

"When I am reading I start at the beginning with the children.  My teacher is happy when I am reading.  I like to read books about Cinderella because she is so beautiful."

I Am Writing!

First I need to think about my story.  I can draw my picture.   I can copy the day like, Thursday.  I write a sentence to match my picture.  My teacher can help me. Sometimes my friend can help too.

"I first draw my picture and after I write the day and I write my story and it is like, I went to the park, maybe.  Then I am finished and I show it to the teacher and she says, "Superstar!"
